Some might say if you have both the panache and prosperity to self inherit the new Audi R8 V10 ($162,900 starting MSRP, excludes destination) with 540 German horsepower then you might as well become the Monarch of the throne and don the 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupe quattro S tronic as your golden chariot ($189,900 MSRP). Well, in this case carbon fiber will replace gold as the kingdom's organic polymer of choice to ascertain you increasingly exceed the stratagems of your adversaries. Moreover, Audi bestowed the beastly machine with powers and sovereignty similar to that of King Arthur's legendary Excalibur so expect nothing short of greatness when you take the wheel!

Once I laid eyes on the Audi R8 V10 plus the first inclination was to contact my people at Nike for a showcase and pick up fresh gear since the week would be full of athletic performance. Besides, getting in and out of the coupe comfortably while still looking cool requires non-constricting clothing and hamstring stretches for extension.

Audi updated the R8 V10 with a newfangled version of its quattro all-wheel drive platform that acts more like RWD that can send up to 100% of the torque to the front wheels when needed. The quick shifting and performance driven 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission with launch control has also been updated and is a vital reason why this super coupe is so exhilarating. It begins with the flat-bottom, multifunction racing wheel with paddle shifters and four satellite buttons for managing the ignition starter, the aforementioned Sport exhaust, Performance mode selector and Audi drive select which allows you to operate the R8 V10 plus in your method of choice including comfort, auto, dynamic, individual and performance mode with dry, wet and snow settings. Yep, at any given moment the 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupe quattro S tronic is ready for takeoff.
Visually the R8 V10 plus is aggressive and incorporates a great amount of carbon fiber which is much lighter and far more stronger than steel or aluminum as we all know. The vehicle weighs 77 pounds less than the R8 V10 and features a static carbon fiber rear wing, exterior mirrors, lip spoiler on the front fascia and racing shell seats. As well, silver Audi carbon ceramic brakes get the job done when it comes to slowing down the R8 V10 pus from hyper speeds. My weeklong loner came adorned with the optional 10-spoke 20" Y-design forged rims in a Titanium finish ($1,500) and were paired with Pirelli P Zero Ultra High Performance summer tires. The exterior package is rounded out with LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights with dynamic turn signals, carbon sigma matte inlays, carbon sigma sideblades, carbon fiber matte door sills that illuminate and of course the signature and attention-grabbing Audi singleframe, 3D honeycomb grille in an Anthracite Gloss finish.
Once inside the aeronautical cockpit positive driver sensibilities dominate from attributes and amenities that are just as pleasing as the exterior's physical traits. Firstly, the Audi virtual cockpit presented from the 12.3" TFT screen behind the steering wheel manages your views from Google Earth satellite maps and music selections to name a few. MMI navigation plus provides travels data, WiFi hotspot, voice control, handwriting recognition technology and more. Of course when I wasn't listening to the melodious flow of the V10 accelerating I let the optional Bang & Olufsen sound system ($1,900) take precedence. Added carbon fiber trim is found throughout the cabin to commingle with the optional full leather package ($3,000) but I'm not sure why this is an upcharge. For $199,925 you would expect the layers to come complimentary.
The emotions from the 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupe quattro S tronic encounter are akin to my first trip to Brazil for carnival. No matter how much times passes by since my last drive in the German supercar the sensation is just as palpable as yesterday. It's an experience that will never be forgotten, at least not any time soon.
